Arrests, minor injuries as pensioners protest outside Congress

The AFP news agency reported that others at the scene were injured in brief clashes with security forces.
Organised groups of pensioners, accompanied by left-wing political groups, demonstrate every Wednesday in front of Congress in Buenos Aires City to demand pensions be boosted.
President Javier Milei sets up a security operation to deal with the protest. On Wednesday, dozens of troops from different federal forces were deployed.
Brief clashes broke out with pushing and shoving. Police officers beat protesters and police used pepper spray.
Around 400 and 500 people took part in Wednesday’s, according to media reports. AFP reporters saw several demonstrators suffering from tear gas.
According to local daily Clarín, at least two people were arrested and two members of the security forces were injured.
As of Wednesday night, police had not issued any statement on the number of people arrested or injured.
