The San Martín train line experienced severe delays on Wednesday morning after a bomb threat at Palermo station led to the Federal Police’s explosives team being called in, sparking cause for concern among commuters.
According to the Noticias Argentinas news agency, a suspicious package was found in the station in the vicinity of Puente Pacífico — the crossing of avenues Juan B. Justo and Santa Fe.
After the Federal Police’s Brigade of Explosives attended the scene to examine the package and carry out the relevant checks, it was determined to be a false alarm.
The police also searched the platforms and other zones of the Palermo station, and nothing suspicious was found.
The events caused some delays in the services as well as worry amongst commuters, but the transport was not fully stopped.
