Unemployment in Argentina affected 7.6% in second quarter
Report by INDEC national statistics bureau shows joblessness stayed in line with 7.7% recorded in first quarter, but rate is up from 6.2% seen in second quarter of 2023.
Unemployment in Argentina affected 7.6 percent of the population in the second quarter of the year, a tenth of a percentage point lower than in the preceding three months.
The data, posted by the INDEC national statistics bureau on Thursday, shows that joblessness has risen from last year – 6.2 percent of people were unemployed in the same quarter of 2023.
The unemployment rate, as defined by INDEC, refers to people not employed, who are available for work and actively seeking employment as a proportion of the economically active population.
