Albiceleste #1: Argentina remains top of FIFA rankings
Argentina remains the highest-ranked national football team in the worldm, according to FIFA.
Reigning world champions Argentina continue to lead the FIFA rankings, ahead of Spain, while Mexico climbed four places to 13th, according to the rankings published by FIFA on Thursday.
The other other South American team in the world's top 10 is Brazil in fifth – the other eight teams are European.
Just behind Mexico, winner of the recent CONCACAF Gold Cup, is Colombia in 14th place.
The biggest jump up since the last update of the rankings was made by Costa Rica. The Ticos, quarter-finalists in the Gold Cup, climbed 14 places to become the 40th team in the world.
