Oxford & Cambridge dinner returns

After a three-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Oxford & Cambridge Annual Dinner will be returning next month.

After a three-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Oxford & Cambridge Annual Dinner will be returning to its traditional venue of the British Ambassador’s residence on Thursday, November 3, from 7pm to 11 pm.

Oxbridge alumni (i.e., those who matriculated at Oxford or Cambridge colleges), current or former professors, and fellows from either university, are welcome with their partners.

The dress code is Black Tie/Lounge Suit or Highland dress (the latter likely to be appreciated by the Aberdeen-born hostess, Ambassador Kirsty Hayes). W

e would be grateful if you could confirm your attendance in writing to Alan Arntsen ([email protected]) by Monday, October 24. The cost of the dinner (including cocktails, champagne and wines) is 20,000 pesos per person and 36,000 pesos per couple. There are also a limited number of places available for those under 30 at a subsidised price; please contact Alan.

Payment is in cash only (in pesos) and should be made by Monday, October 31 at any of the following locations:

– Alan’s offices at Suipacha 1111, piso 18, Tel: 4114-3014; between 9.30am and 6.30pm. In Alan’s absence, please ask for Laura or Josefina.

– Alan’s residence at Edificio Kavanagh, Florida 1065, floor 20C. Please deliver a sealed envelope to the porters addressed to Alan Arntsen, at any time of day or night. Make sure to leave your name and email on or inside the envelope.

Credit cards and other currencies will not be accepted, nor payment on the night at the Residence. Guests arriving from abroad or out of town immediately prior to the dinner are asked to contact Alan. Once payments have been received, attendees’ names will be included on the entrance lists at the Residence. Please remember to bring identification documentation.

Since we have lists of previous guests with their full names, colleges, years attended, subject(s) studied and degree(s) obtained (e.g., BA, MA, PhD, MPhil, etc.), we would appreciate any newcomers sending this information to Alan. The full names of non-alumni partners will also be added to the list so please provide this information too. The main course will be meat (lamb) so those seeking vegetarian, vegan, celiac or other options should please contact Alan.
