Eight out of 10 people admit to quarantine fatigue while also expressing fear of Covid-19 contagion, a University of Belgrano opinion poll has revealed.
According to the Centro de Opinión Pública (COPUB) survey between August 4 and 9, 78 percent of respondents said that they were worried about the possibility of contracting the virus.
"The results indicate that the mood, support and optimism of the people keep falling compared with previous evaluations while the economic worries continue rising and remain high," analysed COPUB director Orlando D'Adamo.
He added that a June survey had shown 68 percent of respondents rating the national government’s handling as good or very good but this fell to 53 percent in July and 42 percent this month.
As for the economic impact of the quarantine, he said that opinions "are increasingly negative" and that "98 percent think that it affects the economy greatly while 66 percent of those consulted manifest that their economic situation has deteriorated."
The survey covered 450 respondents aged over 18, half men and half women in the City of Buenos Aires.
