Nineteen players from Argentina's top-flight football league will take part in the 2026 World Cup after being called up by their respective national teams for the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Under FIFA's Club Benefits Programme, teams will receive US$11,000 per day for every player released for the World Cup for the duration of their participation in the competition.

River Plate will benefit the most of the Liga Profesional de Fútbol clubs affected by call-ups, contributing seven players across five national teams. The Millonario will receive a fixed payment of US$77,000 per day while their players remain involved in the tournament.

Among River's representatives are Argentina internationals Gonzalo Montiel and Nicolás Otamendi, a recent signing whose contract with the club officially comes into effect on July 1.

River will also be represented by Colombia midfielders Juan Fernando Quintero and Kevin Castaño, Ecuador youngster Kendry Páez, Uruguay defender Matías Viña and Paraguay midfielder Matías Galarza Fonda, who recently returned to the club after a loan spell in Major League Soccer (MLS).

The next biggest contributors are Independiente and Huracán, each of whom will receive US$22,000 per day, providing two players apiece for the World Cup, which starts next week.

For Independiente, defender Santiago Arias has been selected by Colombia, while striker Gabriel Ávalos will represent Paraguay. Huracán's representatives are Ecuador goalkeeper Hernán Galíndez and forward Jordy Caicedo.

Boca Juniors will receive US$11,000 per day thanks to the inclusion of midfielder Leandro Paredes in Albiceleste coach Lionel Scaloni's squad.

Vélez Sarsfield and Rosario Central will receive the same daily amount after goalkeeper Álvaro Montero and winger Jaminton Campaz, respectively, earned call-ups for Colombia.

Estudiantes de La Plata will release experienced Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera to his national team.

Elsewhere, San Lorenzo, Lanús, Talleres de Córdoba and Independiente Rivadavia will all have representatives in Paraguay's squad. Goalkeeper Orlando Gil, defender José Canale, midfielder Alejandro Maidana and striker Alex Arce have been selected to represent their national sides.
