Disgraced ex-deputy Kiczka refuses to answer child porn charges in court

Germán Kiczka refuses to testify on Friday as he appeared before a judge in the city of Apóstoles to answer paedophilia and child pornography charges.

Disgraced former Misiones provincial deputy Germán Kiczka refused to testify on Friday as he appeared before a judge in the city of Apóstoles to answer paedophilia and child pornography charges.

Kiczka was captured while on the run on Wednesday night in the city of Loreto in Corrientes Province, a day after an international warrant for his arrest had been issued by the Argentine courts.

Less than 24 hours later, his brother was also detained close to Apóstoles, in the San Juan de la Sierra region.

Both face charges related to the possession and distribution of child pornography.

According to the investigation, Germán had over 600 pornographic files involving children and adolescents on his various devices.

Appearing before Apóstoles Judge Miguel Ángel Faria on Friday, Kiczka refused to answer questions.

Security Minister Patricia Bullrich celebrated the detention of the “paedophile brothers” on social media, declaring brazenly that Argentines are now “a bit safer.”

“I want to highlight the huge effort and dedication of the police forces, who have concluded an operation to put Sebastián and Germán Kiczka behind bars, two dangerous paedophile brothers who were on the run,” said the official.

“Now us Argentines are a bit safer and these scoundrels will pay for everything they have done,” she concluded.

Bullrich acknowledged this week the arrest of deputy Kiczka had been “delayed,” allowing him the opportunity to escape and flee from justice.

“Perhaps next time we need to have quick instructions, have a restraining order and not let them leave or arrest him pre-emptively,” she stated.
