Milei says terror attack on Israel was 'a new version of Nazism'

The President visited one of the Israeli kibbutzes attacked by Hamas and called for the release of the kidnapped hostages.

While visiting a kibbutz in Israel attacked by extremist group Hamas, President Javier Milei asked to “combat” the Palestinian organisation ruling over the Gaza Strip and highlighted that “you can’t be indifferent” to terrorism.

“You have to take what terrorists are doing very seriously and fight it. You can’t be indifferent, because it’s a new version of Nazism and we can’t allow that,” the head of state told the press.

The La Libertad Avanza leader visited kibbutz Nir Oz, located only 2.5 kilometres from the Gaza Strip and one of the sites attacked by Hamas on October 7, 2023: he was accompanied by Israeli President, Isaac Herzog.

In that context, he added: “Nazism did what it did because the free world remained indifferent. We can’t remain indifferent, we can’t repeat that mistake”.

When being consulted about what his nation can do to release those kidnapped by Hamas, including several Argentine citizens, Milei stated: “We’ll do everything we can, use every method for the hostages to be released."

Milei was even at the home of Kfir Bibas, the Argentine baby who was barely nine months old when he was kidnapped by Hamas with his brother Ariel, aged 4; their mother, Shiri; and their father, Yarden.

He also met with Ofelia Roitman, who was kidnapped by Hamas and subsequently released in the context of negotiations developed in a timely fashion; and dialogued with the parents of Ariel and David Cunio; and visited the homes of the Horn family, who have loved ones who are still kidnapped.

At the close of his Israel trip, the libertarian leader visited the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, in Jerusalem’s Old Town, with his sister and general secretary to the President, Karina Milei,

This Friday, Milei is scheduled to arrive in Italy to continue with his international tour: one of the highlights of his European visit will be the audience with Pope Francis, set to take place on Monday.
