Milei to launch series about his ‘epic’ rise to Presidency on X
President to launch a new six-part series, directed by publicist Santiago Oría, detailing his rise to power on social media in coming weeks.
President Javier Milei is to launch a new documentary about his rise to power on social media.
Milei, 53, stormed to the Presidency last year and the new six-part series – which will be premiered on the X social network – aims to tell the tale of his meteoric political career in a favourable light.
Milei – La Serie was announced by the head of state on social media, along with a trailer for the documentary.
It will consist of six 30-minute episodes and was made with insider access material recorded by director Santiago Oría and excerpts from Milei’s famous television appearances and rallies.
Rumours of a new series had been circulating. Some weeks ago, Oría – a publicist – confirmed he was making an “epic” series during his “free time” in a post on social media.
No date has been given for the broadcast, although the TN news channel reported that the first chapter will be released in 15 days' time.
“I am not famous as an economist, but I am famous as a rockstar,” Milei says in one phrase from the doc, which is portrayed as a retelling of “the most epic campaign in history.”
“From zero to president. The phenomenon that captivates the world,” reads the production’s tagline on its X account.
Milei, an outspoken self-declared “anarcho-capitalist” has rubbed up politicians the wrong way during his rise to power and the new series is expected to feature many of his most famous moments.
In one clip, shown in the trailer, he is shown embracing his sister Karina, who he named presidential chief-of-staff. Milei describes his sister as the “architect” of his political career, something he sums up in the nickname “the boss.”
The trailer also shows him brandishing his famous chainsaw, the symbol he used in his campaign to allude to the budget cuts he has implemented since he took office.
The trailer contains no allusions to his dogs, four mastiffs cloned from a deceased one whom he considers “his four-legged children” and it is unclear if the series will grant behind-the-scenes access to Milei’s colourful personal life.
