An exclusive interview with Ruth Ginsburg, this week in the Times

Iconic US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has spent a lifetime fighting for gender equality. Read her thoughts on the Me Too movement and the importance of dissent in this Saturday's Buenos Aires Times.

US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has spent a lifetime fighting for gender equality. Defending women’s rights, battling adversity and discrimination, the 84-year-old known as ‘the notorious RGB’ now sits on the highest court in the land, witnessing the birth of a movement denouncing sexual harassment as never before.

In a rare, exclusive interview with Carolina Barros for the Buenos Aires Times, from her private chambers in Washington, Ginsburg spoke about the ‘Me too’ movement, the importance of dissent and the importance of the media in today’s ever-changing times.

Elsewhere in this Saturday’s edition, we’ll draw the curtain back on President Mauricio Macri’s foreign trip abroad, covering his visits to Russia, the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and yesterday’s trip to France.

Keeping with our diplomatic focus, journalist Santiago del Carril brings us an interview with Fernando Oris de Roa, Argentina’s new ambassador to the United States. Del Carril – one of four journalists invited to a roundtable discussion with the new envoy this week – questions the new ambassador, who presented his credentials to US President Donald Trump this week, about his plans for the relationship between the two nations and the trade issues on the table.

Elsewhere, Jacob Meschke probes inequality in Argentina and beyond, after a new report from Oxfam this week showed that disparities between the richest and the poorest are more extreme than ever.

We’ll also cover this week’s developments in Brazil, where former president Luis Inácio Lula da Silva had his graft conviction upheld against him. What comes next for Brazil, now the presidential frontrunner’s candidacy is in doubt.

In Sports, Dan Edwards will preview the return of the Superliga, while in Culture, we’ll take a look at this week’s Oscar nominations, where outsiders were brought into the mainstream.

Rounded off with commentary, opinion and analysis from Agustino Fontevecchia, James Neilson, Michael Soltys and Andrew Graham-Yooll, this week’s Times is yet another edition you don’t want to miss.
