Former Albiceleste star Ezequiel Lavezzi has denounced before the courts that he is the victim of extortion, with alleged criminals threatening him that they will spread sexual videos of him if he refuses to hand over sums in dollars, judicial sources in Buenos Aires have confirmed.

Lavezzi, 35, who retired in December, said he had received messages warning that intimate images of him would be published on the Internet if he did not agree to pay US$5,000 for each of them.

The lawyers of the former Napoli forward, Paris St. Germain, San Lorenzo and the Chinese club Hebei Fortune, among others, filed the accusation before Judge Daniela Dupuy's cybercrime prosecutor. The local press have dubbed the case "porno extortion."

The former player is on the Caribbean island of San Bartolomé with his partner, the Brazilian model and actress Natalia Borges.

Borges also received the same threats on his social media account, according to sources.

The coronavirus pandemic surprised him on the island, where he complies with preventive health measures.

The content of the threats is credible, according to Lavezzi's testimony mentioned by the lawyers.
